Video: Ray-Ban Aviators / Aviator Sunglasses
In this video from FreeVisionInfo.com, a history of Ray-Ban Aviators and features of aviator sunglasses are explained.
Dark, sleek, and mysterious, aviator sunglasses have been a prominent figure in fashion since their invention in the 1930s. Because of celebrities like Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Megan Fox, aviators represent a cool and elusive style that only this model of sunglasses can deliver.
The first aviator sunglasses were made by Ray-Ban for World War II pilots. They needed glasses similar to fighter pilot goggles that would eliminate sunlight and glare, so Ray-Ban designed the iconic tear-drop frames. General Douglas MacArthur put aviators on the map in 1944 when made his triumphant return to the Philippines wearing a pair of the tear-drop shades on the beach.
Today, Ray-Ban Aviators come in several sizes. The standard size is the RB 3025 Large Metal Aviator , with an eye size measurement of 58. The RB 3026 Large Metal Aviator II is the largest frame that Ray-Ban offers, with an eye size measurement of 62. The smallest Ray-Ban Aviator frame is the RB 3044 , with an eye size measurement of 52.
Ray-Ban also offers other aviator styles including the Outdoorsman , which features a brow bar and cable temples, and the Shooter, which features a brow bar with a metal circle beneath it. The Outdoorsman comes in the same sizes as the regular aviator, and the Shooter comes in standard and large sizes.
These classic and eternally cool sunglasses are available in different frame materials, including titanium and carbon fibre. The lenses come in various tints with optional gradients and polarization. FramesDirect.com is one of the only companies to offer Ray-Ban Aviators with prescription lenses.
Though the aviator sunglass design was invented by Ray-Ban, many other high-end sunglass companies have produced their own versions of aviator sunglasses, including Tom Ford, Serengeti, Scheyden and Prada Sport. Name brand companies utilize the most highly advanced lens technology to ensure that the lenses provide the clearest vision and are free from lens distortion. Prescription aviator eyeglasses frames are also available as well.

Ray-Ban’s Rare Prints Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality: What does that term even really mean? Isn’t all reality augmented by the various attributes that distort reality into what it is? Do cigarettes and caffeine count as reality augmenters? In that sense, does sobriety for alcoholics do the same? These are questions that may never be answered, and are probably outright ignored by Ray-Ban, even though they’re hosting an augmented reality experience of their own on their Rare Prints site.
Here’s how the Ray-Ban Rare Finds Contest works:
Rare Print ads have been placed in various magazines world wide, like Rolling Stone and Maxim. After downloading a plug-in from Ray-Ban’s Website, hold one of these ads up to your web cam and you’ll start to see all kinds of nifty graphics unfold on your screen. The screen will then link you to hidden videos and other cool things to watch, and a contest code at the end. The contest code allows the chance to win all sorts of other cool things, like concert tickets, Ray-Ban gear and such. You chances of winning increase the more times you play.
So that’s how Ray-Ban Rare Prints augments reality. You can find out more about it by watching this video below. If I could win anything I wanted from Ray-Ban, it would probably be a pair of polarized Aviators, simply because I’ve always wanted a pair but never could squeeze it in my budget. ~ Carson

Video: Measuring Pupil Distance
In this video from FreeVisionInfo.com, measuring your pupil distance is explained.
When a pair of glasses are made, you want to make sure that the optical center of each lens in placed directly in line with each pupil. This insures that you have the very best vision, no discomfort or headaches.
The PD or Pupil Distance measurement is usually written on your prescription at the time of your eye exam. Most adult PD are between 60 and 65 millimeters with the average being about 63 millimeters.
In lower prescriptions you can often estimate the pupil distance. In higher prescriptions, the exact measurement done professionally would ensure your lenses are perfectly aligned for your eyes. It’s a simple and quick measurement to take and can be done in less than a minute.

Video: Care & Cleaning of Contact Lenses
In this video from FreeVisionInfo.com, proper care and cleaning of contact lenses is explained.
There are three steps to cleaning your contact lenses. These three steps are Scrubbing, Storing, and Soaking. Each one of these methods requires a different contact lens solution, though all-in-one solutions are available.
Before washing your contacts, it’s important to know the different types of contact lens solutions to ensure that you use the right one for your needs.
Saline solution – Saline solution is designed to clean the lens by removing dirt, chemicals, and residue from other contact lens solutions. Saline solution’s primary purpose is for storage and to clean the lens before insertion, but not to be used as a disinfectant.
Hydrogen peroxide (or disinfecting) solution – Peroxide solution is designed for storage of your contact lens to remove unwanted buildup. While disinfecting in this solution overnight, the peroxide extracts bacteria and other elements from your contact that are known to cause eye infections like Conjunctivitis, or what’s commonly referred to as “pink eye.”
Multi-purpose solution – Multi-purpose solution combines daily cleanser with disinfecting solution. This solution is commonly the most used, because it can serve as a daily cleanser, and as an overnight storage to remove protein. Contact lens wearers that use the multi-purpose solution on a daily basis typically don’t have a need for the other solutions.
Enzyme cleaner/Protein remover – This solution removes protein buildup from the contact. This product can come in liquid or pill form, and both usually require to be used in combination with another solution.
Daily Cleanser – This solution is used to cleanse the contact prior to disinfection. It removes debris that might cause eye irritation and other discomforts. Daily cleanser is not recommended for storage.
Now that we’ve addressed the types of contact lens solutions, let’s start with the process of cleaning your contact lenses.
Step one, Scrubbing
This step should occur before you put the contact lens in your eye, and after you take it out. You should wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before you begin. First, place the contact in the palm of your hand. Next, take your other hand and apply the contact lens solution to the contact until the contact is submerged in the solution. Then take your index finger, and gently rub the contact on both sides for 10-15 seconds. Be sure to scrub gently, scrubbing the contact lens too aggressively may cause the contact to tear and make it unsuitable for use.
Step 2, Storing
After you have scrubbed both sides of the contact lens, place the contact inside a contact lens case and fill the reservoir up with contact lens soaking solution until the contact is completely submerged. Make sure that the lens is completely covered and not folded, or the soaking solution will not be able to reach all parts of the contact. Once the contact is in the case which is filled with solution, screw the case cap on securely. After the cap is screwed on, do not turn the case upside down or on its side. Doing so could cause the contact to slide out of the solution, and not be properly cleaned.
Step 3, Soaking
Once your contacts are stored properly in the contact lens case, let them soak in the solution overnight or as directed. After soaking for the proper amount of time, your contacts should be free of dirt and debris, and ready to be placed into your eyes. If there is still dirt or debris on your contact lens, you can repeat step one before inserting the contact into your eye.
